Whatever’s going on with your feet, we start by understanding it properly. Below are the main services we offer at our Greenwich clinic. Not sure which one you need? Book a standard appointment and we’ll assess you first, then point you towards the right treatment.
This is our most popular appointment, and the foundation of healthy feet. We gently file away hard skin and corns, then trim and tidy your toenails, leaving your feet comfortable and properly cared for. It’s ideal if you find it hard to reach or manage your own feet, if your nails are thick or awkward, or if you’d simply rather leave it to a professional. Plenty of our patients come in regularly to stay on top of things and catch small problems before they grow.
An ingrowing toenail is where the edge of the nail grows into the surrounding skin. It’s a common complaint and a genuinely painful one, often leaving the toe swollen, tender and sometimes infected. In many cases we can treat it conservatively and bring you quick relief. When a nail is severe or keeps coming back, nail surgery is a very effective long-term answer. It’s a minor procedure done under local anaesthetic to remove the troublesome part of the nail so it stops returning, and we’ll talk you through whether it’s the right option for you before you decide anything.
Plantar verrucae are contagious skin lesions on the soles of the feet, caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). Because of the pressure of standing and walking, they can become painful, and they tend to grow deeper and more uncomfortable over time. They can also spread, both around your own foot and to other people. Some verrucae clear up on their own over months or years; others are stubborn and respond far better to treatment. We offer a few different options, including Swift microwave therapy and verruca needling, and we’ll always be straight with you about what each one involves and how likely it is to work, so you can decide what’s right for you.
A biomechanics appointment looks at how your feet, legs and body move and work together. The aim is to spot any imbalances or unusual movement patterns that might be causing pain or putting you at greater risk of injury. It usually involves a chair-side assessment and gait analysis, and where it helps, we may recommend supportive measures such as bespoke orthotics. If you’re dealing with heel pain, arch pain, ball-of-foot pain or a recurring lower-limb niggle, this is often the right place to start.
